Recently Limelight's Bill Beautyman and lighting designer Brian Barnett collaborated to light the “unveiling” of the new Beacon Cinema in Pittsfield, MA. Seen as an important part of the revitalization of the downtown area, the unveiling was a significant event attended by numerous local dignitaries including the Mayor who threw the “ceremonial” on switch. For the official unveiling the client asked for two distinct looks – one dramatic, sculptural look highlighting the restored terra cotta façade and building details, the other a bright, fully lit white look to be “turned on” by the Mayor. Following the formal ceremony, the sculptural look was restored for the balance of the evening for all to enjoy.
